Caresite®

Luer activated valve developed as needlefree injection port in IV applications

Caresite® Luer Access Device provides a Closed System

A closed system is a device that does not exchange unfiltered air or contaminants with the adjacent environment. Device forms a closed system as it is designed to prevent microbial ingress and the escape of contaminants.2,14,15

Caresite® Luer Access Device is designed to make access clear and easy

Caresite® Luer Access Device with positive displacement feature is designed to help reduce catheter occlusions while protecting healthcare workers from accidental needlestick injuries. Input from clinicians provided the basis for the Caresite® design. The result is a device designed to help improve outcomes and efficiency.

Positive displacement: Designed to reduce the risk of catheter occlusions

The B. Braun Luer Access Device is a closed needleless connector with a split septum positive displacement valve design.

Caresite® is designed to help reduce the risk of IV catheter occlusions. The positive displacement feature automatically displaces a small amount of flush solution so that the catheter is only filled with a flush solution when a luer syringe is disconnected from the Caresite® Luer Access Device.

Advantages

Smooth surfaces designed for easy cleaning. Additionally, Caresite® is alcohol resistant.

Open fluid path designed to minimize areas where bacteria can collect. Clear design helps verify proper flush. Can be effectively flushed from blood or fluids.

Ergonomic design provides easy access by allowing a good grip and easy connection.

Average fluid displacement 0.029 ml (positive).

Needlefree valve is suitable for use with power injectors which allows more flexibility.
Pressure resistance up to 400 psi @ 15 ml / sec.
